O-STLer - OBJ to STL Converter

Postby Wolfy » Tue Jun 07, 2011 11:27 pm

Greetings,

Since I do most of my modelling using programs that don't support STL, and couldn't find any decent converter programs on the web, I decided to write my own. It converts Wavefront OBJ (very common easy to read format) to STL. It's very rudimentary and pretty much thrown together but if I get enough time, work permitting etc. I might develop it further.

It converts non-triangular faces into triangles and recalculates all the face normals.
Other than that it only does basic scaling and translation for the moment (the UP software will do all that for you anyway).
It works well though. I've printed several models converted with it.

You can get it here:
